A whimsical galaxy-themed retail store
OH!SOME, a life-style retail store company that has been expanding in Indonesia until now, has a brand new store at Grand Kota Bintang Bekasi which is the first standalone store of OH!SOME. Constructed by Yoka Build in the early month of July, the team faced many challenges and hardships when working on the big project, but through those things, they got many new experiences and useful knowledge.
The project’s width is 1890 square meters and has two floors. The whimsical galaxy-themed construction features a stunning giant moon and a playful ceiling design, showcasing Yoka Build’s commitment to creativity and complexity in every detail. Civil, interior, MEP, data works and furniture are the project’s scope of work.
Some of the materials that are used for the project were gypsum, grey tiles, compound, glass, mirror, acrylics and LED strip lights, which make almost every curvy ceiling in the store shine. Crafting the smooth and neat curvy shaped ceiling was one of the rather complex things to create, it took a few times of reshaping to make it perfect because some parts of the compound often broke due to the extreme weather on site. Creating the window display box and glass railing were also challenging since there are many elements that needed to be adjusted for the customer’s safety.
Despite all the difficulty, Yoka’s team managed to make a vibrant world of colors, unique wall shapes and captivating lighting with a playful essence of space. The mega project was completed in late November 2024, engaging and delighting all who enter the awe-inspiring retail store.
